Darkblade Systems is seeking a highly skilled and motivated OPERATIONS RESEARCH SYSTEMS ANALYST (ORSA) to provide critical analytical support to the Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), Deputy Chief of Staff, G-2 (Intelligence). Join a team of dedicated professionals responsible for applying advanced analytical methods, data science, and modeling to solve complex challenges facing U.S. Army intelligence.

 

 

Responsibilities

This role requires a deep understanding of quantitative and qualitative analysis, military operations, and the intelligence cycle. You will be responsible for developing and executing analytical studies that directly inform strategic decision-making, capability development, and resource allocation for the Army's intelligence enterprise.

  • Design and execute a wide range of analytical studies using scientific and mathematical methods to provide data-driven insights into Army intelligence problems.
  • Develop and apply quantitative techniques, including mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, simulation, and optimization to analyze military intelligence data and operational outcomes.
  • Structure complex, unstructured problems and formulate methodologies for their resolution.
  • Collect, process, and analyze large datasets from various intelligence and Army sources; develop data visualization products to clearly communicate findings.
  • Create analytical models to assess intelligence capabilities, operational risks, and mission effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with military and civilian personnel across the Army G2, the Intelligence Community (IC), and the broader Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Prepare and present briefings, technical reports, and white papers on analytical findings to senior leaders (General Officer / Senior Executive Service level).
  • Evaluate new and emerging technologies and analytical tools for their applicability to Army intelligence challenges.

 

OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:

  • This position operates on a standard 8-hour schedule Monday - Friday.

TRAVEL:

  • Approximately 10% CONUS and possible OCONUS travel.

Qualifications

CLEARANCE:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance.

 

CERTIFICATION(S):

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Preferred Education: Master's Degree or Ph.D. in relevant field.
  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or other relevant technical certifications (preferred).

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience supporting DoD or IC customers; minimum of 8 years professional experience in operations research, data analysis, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with analytical software and programming languages such as Python (with Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn), R, MATLAB, or SPSS.
  • Proven ability to apply a range of analytical methods, including descriptive and inferential statistics, modeling and simulation, and optimization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical findings into clear, concise recommendations for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in briefing senior military or government officials.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Direct experience supporting the HQDA staff, particularly the Army G2.
  • Prior military experience, especially in Military Intelligence.
  • Experience working with joint (e.g., Joint Staff, COCOM) or other service-level intelligence organizations.
  • Familiarity with Army intelligence processes, systems, and architecture.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools such as AFSIM, STK, or similar environments.
  • Expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, or advanced data science techniques.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.

This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary for the advertised job, promotion, or transfer opportunity. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. The actual salary offered may vary based on various factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, education, geographic location, as well as internal equity, and alignment to market data.

Job Type: Full-time (onsite)

Pay Range: $130,000.00 - $220,000.00 per year
