We are looking for a Mechanical Technician to support the replication, exploitation, and analysis of commercial threats program. This program provides engineering support to counter growing multi- and cross-domain threats and protect U.S. forces around the world from commercial threats. You will leverage experience with fabrication, integration, and assembly to develop working prototypes that support evolving mission sets.

• Perform fabrication, integration, and assembly activities associated with prototype development.
• Determine the appropriate fabrication equipment or method based on requirements.
• Perform fabrication, modification, and installation of mechanical components and subsystems.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Perform complex set-up and machining operations, on various machine tools such as vertical mills, lathes, drill press, multiple spindle drills and riveting machines.

OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:

• This position operates on a standard 8 hour schedule 9 - 5 pm Monday - Friday.

CLEARANCE:

• Current Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.

EDUCATION:

• MA/MS and 5 years of experience, or
• BA/BS in Computer Engineering or related field and 7 years of experience.

CERTIFICATION(S): 

• N/A

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• SolidWorks / CREO CAD experience.
• CAD / CAM Software experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing quality assurance processes
• Skilled in the use of measuring tools and test instruments.
• Experience in using electrical and manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Possess an understanding of methods used to produce fabricated parts.
• Skilled in the use of sheet metal and machine tools such as shears, breaks, saws, milling machines, welding machines, and lathes.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• CNC Programming
• CAD / CAM Software experience
• Experience in TIG and MIG welding
• D1.1, D1.2.1, and D17.1 Welding Certifications
